Levent Kiriscioglu was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed his elementary and secondary studies in İstanbul. Later he was accepted to Boston University, where he received his B.Sc. Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. An MBA degree followed at Bentley College. After returning back to Turkey he worked as an executive for multinational companies in the field of Sales and Marketing.

 

During his professional life, his love for the nature found a gateway in sailing. He received his ASA certifications up to Yachtmaster from Florida, USA. Later he got to know Gokova Sailing with whom he started from scratch and received CYA certifications. On a 1100 millage trip to Egypt, Israel and Cyprus he finished his IYT Yachtmaster license (November 2001). In May 2002 he passed the Yachtmaster Coastal Instructor examination of the International Yachtmaster Training Center, Florida, U.S.A). After July 2002 he taught sailing and skippered flotilla charters with Gökova Sailing.

 

During this time his love of the sea and sailing grew and led him to buy his first boat YOL. He and his wife agreed on setting sail to new frontiers. In October 2004, they left Turkey. They sailed around the world and finished their circumnavigation in May 2007.

 

After living on the sea for so long, it was not easy to get back to a life on land.Levent and his wife Ayca decided to spend the winter in the secluded bays of Gokova, South of Turkey. A fruitful winter brought about a new member on board. Their daughter, Derin joined the family in September 2008.

 

The Kiriscioglus live in Marmaris where they have set up their business through which they can share their love and experience of the sea with others.
